Introduction to Altered Book Art & Collage:

Now gaining popularity in the UK, 'altered book art' encompasses the use of found objects, old books, and collected ephemera collaged to create original, artistic and individual artwork that reflects the artists chosen subject matter. Hidden drawers, pockets, niches, windows, image transfer, stitching, glazing, etc, are just a few of the exciting methods and techniques open to you for experimentation. At this workshop you will be introduced to some of these techniques enabling you to begin your own altered art journal.
